Can A Kid Make Money By Blogging?

In my last post I talked about how I was starting a blog to earn money and you might be wondering ‘can a kid make money blogging’ and so I just wanted to come in and give an update.  No I haven’t made any money with my blog yet, but it is only a couple of days old so I’m confident that this blog will do ok.

You might remember in my last post I spoke about doing keyword research and finding a good keyword that has a lot of searches every day but with not too much competition.  Well, even though my blog is only a couple of days old, it is already ranking number 3 in Google for the ‘exact’ phrase match.

I know the exact phrase match gets much less views than broad match, but the fact that I have number 3 for exact in such a short period of time is a good sign.  I don’t think it will take me long to get my blog to page 1 in Google for broad phrase.

If you haven’t done anything like this before, this all might sound quite confusing – exact phrase and broad phrase – and trust me it was confusing for me at first too.  But once you get an understanding of it, it really does make sense and it really is important in getting good rankings for your blog.

Actually, to get a good understanding of everything involved in making money with blogging, my Mum bought be Blogging To The Bank and told me that if I was serious about blogging that I needed to sit down and read it.  I’ve read about half of it so far and I’m going to sit and read the rest tonight and tomorrow.  It’s pretty good and given me some great ideas and tips that I’d never had known.

Hopefully my blog will start making some money soon and I will be able to come in and let you know of my progress.

Just an update on my savings progress – yesterday we took our bottles and cans in to the recycling depot and we got $45 total for them.  I had to split that with my 2 brothers, so we all got $15 each.  So I started with $8 a few days ago, I got $5 pocket money last weekend and $15 for the cans and bottles, so I’m up to $28 now.  Still a long way to go until I get my PSP but I’m getting closer.  It’s pocket money day tomorrow too so I’ll get another $5 tomorrow.  Mum and Dad pay us $5 each week if we do our chores during the week.  Mine is easy this week, I’m on feeding the dog, every week we swap chores.

Thanks for reading
Ben

Mum got sick of me asking for money all the time and told me to start earning my own money.

Then she bought me......

Blogging To The Bank

and told me to read it.

I don't ask her for money anymore, I don't need to. I now earn enough money on my own to get all the stuff I want and I'm only 11 years old.
